Birth-Defect Suits Against Zofran Maker Pile Up

Birth-Defect lawsuits against Zofran maker are piling up as more than 30 lawsuits have been filed by parents alleging that taking anti-nausea prescription Zofran for morning sickness during pregnancy caused birth defects in their children including congenital heart defects, cleft lip and cleft palate.zofran_11492_11_(big)_

The suits alleges that drug maker GlaxoSmithKline marketd “off-label” uses of Zofran, a drug approved for nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy and surgery for women to treat morning sickness in the first trimester of pregnancy.
