Product Recalled: Tablets Contain Unsafe Lead Levels
The U.S. Food and Drug administration announced that Ton Shen Health of Chicago, IL, has recalled its “DHZC-2” Tablets because they have the potential to be contaminated with unsafe lead levels, a naturally occurring element that can affect multiple body system and which is particularly harmful to young children.
The FDA noticed the potential for contamination in higher level of lead presence in DHZC-2 samples. As a result of these findings the sale of the DHZC-2 has been suspended and inventory put on hold while FDA and the company continue to investigate the source of the problem.
According to the company, the recalled “DHZC-2” tablets were mostly sold locally in Chicago area in retails stores however the product was distributed to other states through mail orders.
The product comes in a 1.6 ounce, white plastic package marked with lot # 2163-844 on the bottom. UPC: 616042102727
As of this date, one illness has been reported in connection with this problem.
Consumers that purchased DHZC-2 tablets should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
